All
construction at Sunridge must comply with certain design standards,
and be pre-approved by Sunridge's Architectural Review Committee
(ARC). The ARC consists of a representative of the developer, and
two Sunridge residents, one of whom is also a professional land
use planner.
The
ARC makes subjective judgments about exterior colors, window and
deck placement, proportions and bulk, quality and use of materials,
and overall harmony of the general design, type, style and location
of proposed homes with the topography, and with other contemplated
or existing homes.
ARC
review can occur before finalizing the purchase of your lot, if
desired. This is a good idea when you are not sure whether what
you want to build will win ARC approval.
The
ARC makes its decisions on proposed improvements on a case-by-case
basis. However, the ARC maintains Design Guidelines, which describe
general design principals the ARC finds desireable. The ARC frequently
revises its design standards in response to resident and builder
feedback, and its previous experiences. Below are links to the latest
ARC Design Guidelines, as well as the application form for ARC review,
and checklists for making sure you have a complete application.
