Protecting Our Native Trees

Urban trees, especially native ones, enhance the value and livability of the neighborhood. Too often, these trees are removed by the developer, fatally injured by heavy equipment during construction, or slowly killed by inappropriate irrigation or landscaping practices.

Many Sunridge lots contain specimen trees which have been examined by an arborist and found to be in good health. These trees are identified as "Protected Trees" on the individual lot maps you can download from the Available Now page.

Protected Trees are subject to special rules designed to ensure the continued survival of these irreplaceable gifts of nature. Violation of these rules that results in the death of a Protected Tree can lead to a $5,000 per tree penalty. Our tree preservation policies are based on the recommendations of the Arbor Day Foundation's "Building With Trees" program.
